About St. Timothy

Located in Wayne, New Jersey, St. Timothy Lutheran Church is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, one of the largest Christian denominations in America, with about 4 million members in nearly 10,000 congregations across the United States, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.

We are heirs both to the 16th century reforms of Martin Luther and nearly twenty-one centuries of Christian history. We are a church deeply rooted in Scripture, as well as the Nicene, Apostles’, and Athanasian Creeds, and the Lutheran Confessions. We share a living, daring confidence in God’s grace – the love of God freely given.

We confess that the church is the Body of Christ, and that the church’s members are called, gathered, enlightened, and sanctified by the Holy Spirit. We gather weekly to hear the Word of God proclaimed and assemble around the altar to receive the body and blood of Christ in the Sacrament of Holy Communion.

Pat Kaplan, dedicated member of St. Timothy and long time servant of Christ, passed onto eternal life in heaven yesterday afternoon at the Morristown Medical Center. At the time of his passing, with Barbara at his side, volunteer singers were in his hospital room softly singing to him. Please keep Barbara and their sons, Matthew, Patrick, and Nathaniel along with all their family and friends in your prayers. A memorial service will be scheduled for a later date. Almighty God, source of all mercy and giver of comfort, graciously tend those who mourn, that, casting all their sorrow on you, they may know the consolation of your love; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen ... See MoreSee Less
